The OCC Controller shall, as part of the operations team, coordinate the activities of the Operations Control Centre, including the control and oversight of live aircraft operations, Crew Control and operational preparations, up to 72 hours in advance; ensure the effective planning and adjustment of schedules and service provisions to minimise delays and maximise efficiency; ensure schedules are communicated to all stakeholders to ensure effective planning and proactive activities in support of operations; make decisions related to delays and rescheduling of crews and aircraft to minimise disruption and return the operation to normal as quickly as possible, escalating issues when management input is required; shall develop the effective implementation OCC operations policies, procedures and programs to ensure compliance with corporate, industry and governmental standards and regulations; ensure a safe, effective and economic operation, by managing the OCC administration and service provider performance standards; coordinate support and direction across all reportable locations worldwide, according to the standards and requirements of the company; provide support and assistance to facilitate a high-performance business; shall act as the Operations link between all departments in order to fulfil corporate and customer expectations linked to aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight and control of daily activities related to OCC, ensuring excellent operational delivery and on-time performance by providing leadership and operational direction where required
  • Provide flight watch cover to ensure a safe and efficient operation with consideration to all operational factors.
  • Ensure the effective planning and adjustment of schedules and service provisions to minimise delays and maximise efficiency
  • Make decisions related to delays and rescheduling of crews and aircraft to minimise disruption and return the operation to normal as quickly as possible
  • Act as the initial and focal point of contact for all operational enquires for the OCC, both internal and external, including the regular publication of the flight schedule to all departments, stakeholders and service providers
  • Initial execution of CLA Emergency Response Plan in the event of incident or accidents being reported to the OCC, including implementation of the Notification Matrix
  • Provide technical expertise regarding aircraft and airline operating policies, processes and functions
  • Forward planning for future flight requirements, including handling, slots, overflight permits and traffic rights
  • Preparation of flight documentation, including dispatch paperwork, filing of ATC flight plans, NOTAM/ATC/weather/MEL restrictions/ATC feeds and provide crew briefing
  • Maintenance of flight plan routes and aircraft database within SITA & Lido
  • Ensure the appropriate standards of safety and security are achieved in line with corporate requirements, government legislation and international best practice
  • Conduct continual review and risk assessment processes on all SOPs and working practices to identify any unsafe practice areas for quality improvement
  • Handle critical issues through liaison with station managers, airport authorities and internal departments to effectively deal with situations
  • Maintain effective communication with all external and internal stakeholders connected to the operation, including Customer Service teams, to ensure effective operational delivery
  • Manage the investigation and follow-up of incidents, accidents, violations and irregularities, reporting findings to the appropriate management and facilitating the implementation of required corrective measures
  • Act as representative and primary contact to local, national and international regulatory agencies in matters involving regulatory compliance
  • Liaison with Safety and Compliance department to ensure development and application of suitable compliance monitoring processes, policies and programs, including a comprehensive oversight audit plan
  • Target the reduction of flight delays and their consequences, and improvement of on-time-performance
  • Updating and administration of the Centrik system with relevant Operations information and documentation
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of company operations, documentation, regulating authority requirements, relevant systems and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director Ground Operations and Head of OCC
  • Shall be responsible for the proper and timely performance of duties assigned

Key Requirements

  • Ability to communicate and coordinate at all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Airline Scheduling and Crew FTL knowledge
  • Experienced in world-wide flight planning (preferably using SITA/LIDO) and dispatch
  • 3 years’ experience in airline operations environment
  • Knowledge of IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Proactive team player
  • Must be computer literate and experienced in the use of MS Office products
  • High level of time-management skills, efficiency and punctuality
